and assign buttons for vertical adjustement aswell, g & h aint enough for me

I hope FL Studio will come with a key-mapping (so you can link keys to processes) like in Cubase with the next version...

My tip of the day is this:

For those producing Electro Minimal tracks there's this freeware vst for videogame like sounds and r2d2 glitchy like noises.

Basic64
http://www.delamancha.co.uk/basic.htm

Highly recomended

I gots and to me honestly it sounds more like the sid chip than the refx sid emulator
it sure is free but it sure kicks ass, i thought i was the only one usin it haha
glad to see others using it heck glad to see some mention it... though i got 4 real sid chips 6581 n 6582A tugged away when i get this puppy here http://www.hardsid.com/hardsid_4u.php

I'll be in sid heaven I LOVE sidchip tunes hehe geeky huh?
heres some info on sids encase anyone is interested in the real deal

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOS_Technology_SID

Cheers

PS. Dammit Nerdkiller your killin me here man
u reminded bout the sid chips and no money now for the hardsid4U so everytime i see the chips i get anxious, oh man oh man i cant wait to save up for it, the sid chip is so nice its a sound thats unlike anything the chips are also like the TB303 as they all have theyre own sound even though they are all sid chips just encase ya guys didnt know so even if you the same model as me they both wont sound exactly the same thats a cool factor, but also a quality control issue
in those times... well i guess that sometimes
its does those quirky things we look for for unique tones

also a radio station for all my geeky sidchip lovers - http://www.radio6581.com/

Now im checking that website hardsid4u to listen to the demos. And to be honest im quite afraid cuz I think ill go poor lol

Money commands me to buy stuff without thinking. The next thing I know I have it debited on my cc :-(           Jesus loves you...

woow im so exited ,, didnt knew that thing existed, man this hardsid reaaaally kick asses, its totally sick
just watching those videos and the sound is fantastic, i know its digital but the low bit resolution makes it somehow "analog" sweet sounding, loved it & as i understood its about 500euro for studio4U plus 4 Sid chips... economy crisis sucks hehe ,, but i think when i have the money i wont even think about it twice .. thanx a lot for this psyaudio
also basic64 is very nice too, full of great fx and twisted soundz , sits in the mix good, for something free its great too

a nice tip we where discussing at class for
"cleaning" your ears or better you perception of hearing is to do this:
when you work , move in the city you are exposed to a lot of sounds all the time and the ear is getting used to them and somehow blocks up by so many frequencies and noise and also physical fatigue.
so a good why to "clean" that before you start producing and mixing is to take a white noise signal (from sample, or synth) and filter it (LP) to sound like a pink noise so that all frequencies are equal sounding and listen to that for 10-15 minutes constantly.
there are some other ways for making that , for example (teacher told that) a waves sample (waves from the sea) that's reversed(as an audio clip) and mixed with some pink noise but the concept is filtered noise always.. personally ive tried it and it works, after a while listening to the pink noise your ears feel different and correspond different to changes in sound and distinct frequencies better (after a day at work always ) ,, it feels like on saturday mornings , waked up with fresh ears ready for mixing (not the same but you get what i mean )
hope it help others too

hey this is fun!
one of my teachers talked about this technic but in a different way :
listening to white noise for one hour (or more if you're able to ).
i've never tryed it, but she said that you're able to ear very precise micotonalities after that...
let's experiment!

(i will try your version for a start)           A noise annoys an oyster but a noisy noise annoys an oyster most.

hey eole thats the word i was missing
microtonalities sound like describing exactly the feeling of whats is changing in the sound and believe it or not after doing that i listened much better the timbres and the volumes , but consider that it is not pure white noise, its pink cause you have to listen the frequencies in balance, cause in white noise you listen the high freq. much more the low... and i think you can do it for an hour , its not hard at all for your ears, it is somehow pleasant and even a kind of meditation ..

so the trick is to listen to a modulating shhhhh instead of just a hiss right?

This trick sounds amazing.

Now I just need to wait for a tip to clean boredon over listening too much to the mix.
