pffff okay okay sometimes when you see him moving his arms in front of his laptop you could laugh. BUT, he has very top notch tracks and, sorry, a great influence.

Some thoughts on that reverb or not on bass ... and taking it one step further.
I think it's fun to use fx on bass - not just leave it the way it comes out of the synth and maybe put an eq and compress it.
What i like to do lately is to split the bass into two separate mixer tracks. Keep the lows/low mids in first track and the midhighs/highs in the other. Then keep the first track (the meat) as it is to give the low end to the track but try any fx on the second channel so as to give a more fluid/groovy feel in the song. I like to put reverb there and sidechain it to the kick, chorus, delay, bitcrusher, some stereo widening maybe ... whatever really ... it can produce really cool results and give a lot more character to the bassline.
Cheers!            Peace, Love, Death metal

Create a melody, and make each note of this melody played by different synth. May rock, if done with care           http://soundcloud.com/aedem

my tip - mix a clean sine wave to your saw bassline to add more low end. just let them flow in sync.

Let's say that i have the bass playing in mixer channel #2:
I unroute ch #2 from the master mixer track and route it to ch #3 and ch# 4 so that the bass sound gets out from these 2 mixer tracks only.
Then add eq to each of them - and eq at will so that one has the lows (maybe lowmids too - depends on the original sound) and the other one has the mids...midhighs.
It's very easy to do this in FL, wouldn't know how to do it in cubase though...

I will say, slightly overdrive the kick it give him more character, even the bass If you feel like it.
And don't forget the sidechaining compression of course.

Use filters on your reverb, it always give a subtil movement that I like.

I agree with this two, smoke pot and don't eat over you gears !

It was my first post here after a long time spend reading you guys, I learn a lots of things here so now it's time to share !
