I don't know if anyone has ever mentioned this, but somehow I just came to the next idea.
One of my truly favorite synths is really Albino.
The way the it works, its interface and just how easy it is to understand this quite advanced (for a subtractive) synth.
But something was bothering me: its filters!
The just don't sound fat.
So what I did (quite darn easy actually), turn 'm off!
And in place of that I use some external Vst plugin (Pro) filters.
Now that Albino sounds a whole lot better, I can tell you:-)
Thick fat, resonant, whatever you want it to sound like! |

I think the filters are fine, but sure some external ones are probably better.
However you lose some routing options which are imho quite nice... |

Yes I think you do loose some modulations and stuff, but quite a lot is possible with filter automations and such. |

hmm... I've made a short sample using Albino without extra-processing with filter tweaks... don't know, sounds okay for me...

I sometimes enable the filter in the effects section of albino, in combination with main filters this can give good results.

My tip of the day:
Get a large HDD and save all your unfinished work, even if you are not satisfied with it at the moment. Someday you will return to it, get inspired and come up with killer tracks.=)

another tip of the day.. for sx3..
to get the main output channel as a track in your project, like every other audiotrack..
for example because you want to check the main output with an audiometer or you want to check fast how far you can crank up the mix with a limiter.. etc...
open the mixer and activate read and write of the main output and bliep..
the main channel appears like a normal audiotrack in your project.
