seriously, isn't quadrafuzz enough for saturation? I think when processing Bass it's a good idea not to over do it.

i cant agree, id prefer more processing imo (depending on the fx)
and sticking to quadrafuzz is soooo 2003

I don't even use quadrafuzz myself, since I work with Logic. But I can't see the need for introducing two stages of saturation on the same patch - even in 2013.
The more experience I get the less stuff I tend to use. I think "keep it simple" is very good advise for Bass. Unless you're going for something that's out of the ordinary - which I don't think is really the case for most High Tech. If you use layers (or frequency bands of the same sound), you can get much deeper without fucking up the original source sound - which is something I don't really like. Sometimes a slight boost with an analogue inspired EQ (I prefer this kind of EQ for boosting) is all it takes after saturation stage. Can even be on the Kick and Bass Group if you're going for "sounding as one"...
