Here is a link of my own teaked version of TinyXP V5, I removed some components such as printer stuff, some error reportings and few other things, will fit great for a DAW.
Just download all the video drivers, sound drivers and keep it as small as possible, just music production things.
Hope you enjoy it.
It is a rar file containing the ISO file, burn the ISO and reboot from CD.

Let me know if you like it.

The idea is great, please give us a link, and explain better that "Just download all the video drivers, sound drivers and keep it as small as possible". I have to download the .iso and these drivers? Where?
Thanks.

I was uploading and lost connection.
Uploading now, will post the link later, takes some time to upload.
Sorry.

By the way, all the msn and stuff you want to add, just go to the internet and download, msn liv.e is the most recommended          www.myspace.com/enertopiapsy

I think if you're going to try and keep things as *tiny* as possible you should use as few 'install' programs as possible. By that, I mean applications that you can add/remove in the control panel.
Do a search for "portable.." followed by the name of your program in Google and someone has usually made an executable version without the need to install anything to registry. The benefit is, you can put all these programs on a USB key or back them up to a CDR and if your computer goes to hell, you can just copy all your apps back, settings and all. You can also run your programs on other peoples computers off a USB key with all your settings.

Main portable apps I use: Firefox, Thunderbird Mail, Miranda (MSN messenger replacement), Winamp, Nero, Thunderbird, Utorrent, VLC media player.

Only Cubase and a couple other essentials installed, haven't formatted in well over a year and it's running format-fresh.

'Just download all the video drivers, sound drivers and keep it as small as possible, just music production things.'

i guess it means; just download it and install it contains XP-wise what you need to run your audiothings.

if not; as a computernoob i need to know what else i have to download to get my cubase running with this xp-version. then a link/info for this would be very welcome!

great contribution was just looking for this! thanx.

*Always* format before installing a new OS. Copy your data files off first. If you aren't sure where certain things are kept, ask.           http://soundcloud.com/aeon604
