AFAIK this Tiny XP it's some kind of Windows XP with all unnecessary things removed
It uses about 400mb installed rather them almost 2gb of the standart version
anyway I dont know if it's good for musical porpouses or DAW's...I want to know this too.
peace

I've been using it for the past year and it is excellent. Very quick, gives you more free RAM, has all the unnessesary stuff removed - providing you're going to use your computer mainly as a DAW it'll be perfect (although to be honest, I installed it on another computer and a laptop as well and I haven't found anything yet that it can't do.. wireless netowrking, games, etc. all intact and working)
Cubase, all my midi gear, sound cards etc work perfectly.
I recommend revision 2, as version 3 puts some extra stuff back in for weird configs that needed strange things supporting, plus it put IE back in, which is.. well, shit. Firefox all the way.
One other fantastic tip for speeding up your computer is DO NOT FUCK WITH THE REGISTRY.. why install programs when you can get the 'portable' version. For example, if I install Firefox - it messes with the registry, if I use a portable version, not only does it run from whatever folder you extract it to, it doesn't install anything - uninstall is just a case of deleting the folder - but a huge benefit is, if I reformat my hard drive, I can just copy all my portable apps back quickly, with the same settings without install.
