Recently got a soft ringing in my ears, can only hear it when it is very quite.
spent alot of money going to do doctors and doing ear tests trying to fix it. in the end the doc said i have no hearing loss nor is anything wrong with my optical nerve so he said one day it should just dissapear.
But now i will definately invest in a good pair of custom ear plugs....scary stuff since i am a sound engineer |

by the way for ppl looking to buy custom ear plugs go to an audiology institute or any place that does hearing tests they should do custom earplug fittings.
they will make it so that its perfectly shaped for your ears and its frequency response should be the same as your ears too so that they dont cutout imp stuff. you can also choose what level of SPL reduction you want depending on its use. |

I had this after one party, had a fucking loud beep in my ear for 3 days..
The first night I had to turn on the radio to sleep.
It spooked me as hell... Maybe I should get ear plugs as well?

Yeah, I have Tinnitus too... everyday, need to sleep with the radio on so I don't hear whooshes and whistling. However when I visited the Audiologist (hearing specialist) they told me that I don't have it due to hearing damage, but the opposite, my ears are overly sensitive to sound... This means that even if i'm in a loud bar for a while i'll still get ringing in my ears. I always therefore wear filter ear-plugs when I go out...
plus your ears adjust to the attenuation so it still feels loud when you wear the plugs
Peace

Tinnitus seems to be a growing problem around the world. Only last year it started with me, went to the doctor, had my ears cleaned, had them tested (hearing is fine) yet the ring continues, its very disturbing, especially for music lovers.
And yeah, now whenever someone turns a television on around me the ringing seems to double in amplitude, in general I seem to be a lot more aware of high frequency noises all around me now. Probobly because of paranoia like.. "oh man my tinnitus just stepped up a notch" |
