Lets say you have a drum loop that you know its 135 bpm and you want to sync it with your song that is 140 bpm.
Is there any plug in that does timestretch automatically just by imputing the original bpm? |

Basement arts reflex vst is a loop slicer that plays the loop as whole or the hits triggered in midi. basically treats the wav as a REX file and can sync to host tempo.Has a nice compressor and filter, you can filter each hit and reverse them as well. Its my fav plug in but it doesn't work properly in cubase 4/5 for me, so im still using SX3. looks like the company is no longer in business.....bugger!!
If you want it I can email to anyone |

I have that VST too mate but I'm convinced I'm being totally clueless with it. I've sussed going up a few octves makes reverses but the ADSR I'm sure I'm makin a balls of it.

hey man you could always put the tempo of your DAW as the same tempo as the loop, chop it up to 16ths, glue it together with a seperate audio block, then change to the tempo you want it at, and by rights the chopped 16ths parts shoulkd alin, maybe just need touch up some tails...thats how i do it in cubase. |

what DAW are you using the reflex plug in in Bap? yeah it can be a bit confusing. ADSR/GATE/ TRIGGER options confuse me. ADSR basically plays the wav in loop mode key C1, and TRIGGER slices into hits mapped from C1 up.can choose 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 note slices, and the little button to the right of them smooths the envelopes..... cant remember what gate does. You can sync a wav/rex to host tempo then export as audio, so you can use it as a quick time stretcher, or use it as vst which acts as a realtime recycle. its the best sounds loop slicer to me, the others ive tried do something to the sound (in a bad way) |

I found using Ableton seems to Work.
Warp the samples or audio (I usually do this manually) to get them the correct speed/BPM then open the sample in the browser (double click it) then there is the option to X2 or -2. X2 and repeat the process till you have stretched to the desired length.
If you need to stretch more X2 a couple of times then render as audio and repeat.
Also Sony ACID Pro used to have a good time stretch but you had to use some maths to get the length of the stretch right a good sound quality tho.
