Select the region you want to process then use the locators in the ruler at the top to select an area that you want the original stretched to and then use the 'Adjust Object Length to Locators' shortcut key which in my (mac) case is Ctrl+T |

Time stretch is within the Time Machine process. you can find it in the audio editor window - menu above.
eMpTY: that feature exists only in Logic 6. Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

I would suggest you find another one though... The one in Logic is not very good. I don't use timestretch so much, so I haven't had the motivation to find a decent one yet...

If using the Time machine is the way to go would you care to explain a bit more? I have tried "Adjust Object between locators" which changes the tempo for the whole song! even when Im NOT selecting a "Global" change! I like Logic but cubase had a very simple way of doing the same thing that was effective and precise. Would a logic GURU please shed some light!

however...i haven t get good results with time-machine...if, then use it just for very small changes. -not more than some bpm...try.
chk sonikmatter-forum for logic-questions too.
also try recycle n ableton live.

For timestreching issues, I typically use Acid. It's the only thing I use it for, and I haven't had to use it very much, but it seems to work a hell of a lot easier than Logic's timestretch ability.
Ableton live works beautifully for drums as well as recycle, but if you don't know the original tempo of the sample, it makes thing a bit difficult.

Thanks guys! The links helped alot! I was messing with that last night(Time machine) and it went to the bpm I set but the pitch got F*kd up. BUT NOW I KNOW you have to have harmonic correction checked! Cool some homework after the Laker game! Thanks again!
mubali, if your at 4th of Jupsy give me a shout. I'd like to finally meet you. that is if your going...there is always next time 2!
peace

I don't see a problem guys.
if you got Logic 6 it would be easier... selecting and hitting a button.
if you don't, like myself, just use Time Machine. I never had probs with it. it's accurate and preserves pitch information great.

interesting... I only used the time machine once, and I did not have that good of an experience with it. I'll play around with it some more and see if I can get it to work better for me. Kiva, I think that I will be going to the 4th of Jupsy, but I still am not certain. I will be down on the 19th for Joti though... I have to see him play...
