Tim Richards is one of Auckland, New Zealand's most dedicated and successful dance music practitioners, with previous musical endeavors on some of the most well respected labels on the planet including Fergie's own “Rekluse”, King Unique's “Curfew” imprint and Paolo Mojo’s “Oosh”. With tracks featured on Dave Seaman's Global Underground 039 it is testament to his hard work that he once again returns to Iboga, after previous collaborations with both Antix and Fiord, on his own individual offering, the sun-drenched beach anthem “Summer Sky”.
Hailing from Sydney Australia, New Empire are championing that rock sound of the likes of fellow countrymen the Temper Trap. After the release of their debut album “Come With Me Tonight” in 2008 they have since supported Good Charlotte on their Australian leg of the 2010 tour and gained a league of new supporters.
Tim Richards Featuring New Empire - Summer Sky is an amazing stripped back lush vocal house record with crossover appeal, that is as beautiful as it is anthemic. It is a record that sets the tone as a peak time injection into any DJ set or as the end of the night song that leaves everyone feeling warm and content.
The Sunset Mix is the Club Mix that you’ll no doubt hear in your favorite night spot, whereas the Sunrise Mix is, as the name suggests, a laid back, gorgeous chill version. Alongside both these mixes there is the dub version which sports elements of the Sunset Mix yet is more dance floor friendly for those that like their beats more driving than vocal.
Look out for the Summer Sky official music video on youtube set against the backdrop of one of the most majestic west coast beaches in NZ, Piha.
Simply put, Tim Richards has done for New Empire what Jacques Lu Cont did for The Killers “Mr Brightside”.
