hi guys , just a quick review :
1-Equinox 145 bpm
The album start with a nice oriental strings sample that put you directly in the atmosphere
of Tikal ....Nice 145 with periodic sounds and paterns , groovy bass line and nice melodies.
i like the female sample at 2`'54 in a Celtic ambiance that shows definitly the Tikal world wild music influence .
2-Sunshine middle east 145 bpm
Another 145 starting with african samples and still in their style some short sounds building
with rythmic elements make this track perfect for morning vibes.
after 5 minutes there is one guitar patern (made by Tikal at the guitar) and the track finish
with nice high frequencies paterns .
3-Time is runnig out 145 bpm
One of my favorite ... Tony Montana !!!!.... Great sample for a great track . This one is more full-on that the two first . Not so much world sample as they do usual but lot of twisted sounds with percusive rythmics --> dance floor !!
4-Breath rmx 145 bpm
Nice rmx from the classic Breath by Bamboo forest . They put their own touch in this track
keeping only the brazilian voice and some other sounds from the original. One of the hit of this
album.
5-Jazzistique145 bpm
Tikal love the female vocals no ?? Another killer sample start this 145 track, turning bass line and lot of audio work in this track ... Flute samples and morning paterns are puting a very
melancolic atmosphere here , to finish they put a very original brass patern and some
other oriental samples ... very rich track ...
6-Mr Pink 145 bpm
For the one who didn't realease , mr Pink is Steve Buscemi in the cult movie "Reservoir dogs"
by Tarantino ."why mr pink ??" hehehe . This one is build with different additioned layers
in their typic style making a big progressive trance loop . at 7'33 there is a very cool destructured break ..... the more longer track in this album (more than 10 minutes ).
7-Aura rmx145 bpm
Their usual intro when they play live .... a killer one ... starting with sample from this french cartoon called "les mysterieuses cites d'or" . the reference !! LA TCHOUTCHOUKA !!
This famous Turkish appetizer .... Don't try to understand : Private joke !
8-Horn travel 120 bpm
First ambiant track , i should say down tempo cause of the kik and bass, including saxo paterns and as usual lot of samples. They show here they can do other styles as well ....
Brass and old school sounds dominate in this track . Groovy !
9-Canicule 95 bpm
The ambiant one : lot of flutes and percussions , samples and atmospheres .. Very nice feeling
with this track . That one is a real ambiant jewel .
Solid debut album from the brothers, they got their original style by using a lot of
accoustic samples and tribal sounds, with a very moody spirit : nice pads and layers,
very nice ethnic voices. The construction is a bit progressive, but with full on sounds.
the result is a trance reference album.

This is such a *beautiful* album..that's the word. It's melodic, groovy, inspiring..simply killer.
Amazing work for a debut album... Tikal is in for a good long ride in the trance scene!
Tracks Equinox, Breath rmx, Time is Running Out and Mr. Pink are just amazing.
I wish you guys the best of luck ! A big praise for making this music! |

Damn, this is defiently full-on at it's very best..hits u PSYhard...I've known this site for awhile now..haven't bothered to comment anything else yet(I really dig Chill-out, Beat Hackers, Sub6 n' lots more)...but this album sure needs every recommendation it can get...its a flawless album..not a second of doubt.
All the trax are special..reminds me alot of GMS...of course GMS has talent but it lacks something or some things, probably just not deep-diving enough when making their trax
(my opinion)..
But TIKAL has got it n' more..I wont give u another review...read the one Traveller made, he did it quite wonderfully. Please go get the whole album rightaway..its just beautiful and so smooth n' clean and ect.
Cannot wait to hear from u again Tikal(though, I haven't been able to take it all in just yet, hehe)...But take your time and keep it Psy!
GOGOGO TIKAL
