this is a nice tip, I just used it on my kick which helped a lot. may try it on the bass too.

I'm glad it helped Imho it's extremely tricky to get kick and bass just right. It's probably one of the major frustrations of anyone producing psytrance. |

i do my low basses/subs like that.........
set some low octave osc
lp filter
resonate the sound (80-100% resonanse)
then begin to low the cuttof till u hear no 'birds' but only fat clear bass
no need of further compression usualy
same effect as compressor can be controlled by cuttof and ressonance for final tune
the idea is to resonate low/sub friq's and same time cut all upper friqs
1 more tip.....
for bass use as less modulating synths as u can
i mean if u have to choose between pro 53 and some simple 1 ocs,1 filter vst then use the 2nd one
even that pro 53 have fatter sound, bass wave sounds better when its clean
