To be honest I expected a bit more from this release...... Yes it's a very good production and the tracks are all nice - some even great but in my opinion there's something missing...... I would have loved to hear more changes in the rythms and more experimentation with sounds... but again a subtle and nice album that for sure have a few good dancable tracks.......

I think the forthcoming Antix Cd will do it for me

I agree with Elysium, on both points. Very good dance tracks and absolutely fantastic production, but not psychedelic to my ears. This will be great on the dance floor, but it doesn't do much to my head. For me hypnotic music is more psychedelic than "fat" music, so I too am waiting for the strom brothers to drop "lull" on me...

Ah, where to start. This CD rocks, plain and simple. On this one, Ticon has progressed their own unique sound, experimented with completely new influences and elements, and made a very high quality and diverse album that far surpasses their first album (which also blew me away at the time). Some progressive flavor, some dark tribal sounds, dub, a little electro flavor, and even some breakbeats all fill the album...I am one happy camper.

The highlights....

Track 1 - Don't Tell me I Sing Like a Robot - dub meets trance....doesn't Vibrasphere do this? Ticon gives the formula their own spin and creates a hypnotic dubby masterpiece.

Track 2 - Waiting For the Knights - This was a good track when it was on 12" and still rocks the house. 'Nuff said.

Track 7 - It Breakz My Heart - Ticon covers Layo & Bushwacka! Obvious striking similarities to the nu-skool breakbeat hit aside, this track was the nicest surprise on the album for me. Ever since the brilliant atmospheric breaks-driven breakdown in Ticon's remix of "The Bear" on the Crosslink comp, I have been dreaming of a full breakbeat track by Ticon. This doesn't disappoint. Heavy rhythms, blissful atmospherics....this one will be in my breakbeat rotation for some time to come. A track like this is heaven for somebody like myself whose two musical loves are groovin' Swedish trance and breaks.

I am a breakbeat fiend...what can I say.

Track 8 - Back to Basic - Dark, driving nighttime progressive with delicate rhythms. Almost reminiscent of a more subtle Tegma.

Track 9 - Ghost in the Machinery - Gritty, hard-edged, funky tek piece. This one made me re-think the peak of a mixed CD I am working on.

Track 11 - Snooze Da Booze - Monster of a closing track. This has the subtly dark tribal sound which also appears in "Back to Basic", just with a bit more groove and the distinct Ticon flavor. One of the most hypnotic tracks I have heard in awhile. This track is the perfect progression Ticon's sound and is the best trance track on the album for me.

Overall verdict...phenomenal album. It has variety for all times of the night and for most listeners. I expected so much from these guys for their second album and they have surpassed in every way imaginable.

10/10

well , not exactly 10 from 10 , but still , a very good albom ... they really grew up those Ticon guys , by all means ... first albom was really cool(mostly for its dancy degrees and mamoth roars) but this one musicly is much higher in my view ... it flows all the way , very diverse , actually none of the tracks resembles each other .. has a good beat , well they have catchy sound thats for sure .. not super psychedelic but on the other hand at some places even funny ... i haven't sleep for 3 days +/- , felt like a dead fish all the way and in some magic way - these songs(!) recover me ... well done !!           Dance is my Trance

Agree with some reviews from above: great production but not really innovative, dance trance more then i expected from it, phatnass is important ,but the changing ideas are important more for an album, too plain for me!Anyhow another cd whihc deserved to be checked without doubt.

I recently purchased this CD - and I must say that it still sounds very, very fresh... The rhythm section here is very impressive and the overall groove is totally funky... Progressive trance when it's best! I dig it!

DP           On really romantic evenings of self, I go salsa dancing with my confusion...
