On April 7th, 2011, Gaian Mind explores the bassy, funky and grindy side of psychedelic downtempo music with Mr Rogers from California on his Licking Cities Tour. Joining the fun are Philadelphia's freeform sonic psychedelic explorers, KiloWatts, Butter & Eggs, and Orbicles. Expect a mashed up, crunchy, psychedelic, midtempo stew of cartooned up funky glitch.

Crawling out of the swamps of Northern California, Mr. Rogers has been sending his handcrafted sonic waves out of the lush forests, slowly creeping down the mountains and rippling into unsuspecting eardrums worldwide.
Following the success of his first album release The Ooze System and his recent EP The Parallel Neighborhood, Mr. Rogers has since been slipping behind the console and slurped up on dance floors all across North America, inciting fun-filled, energetic frenzies for freaks a plenty. Mr. Rogers connects with dance floors instantly with his totally unique style. His signature sound seeps out of every beat per minute, and latches onto your primal dance button.
The brand new independently released album “Licking Crystals” is a conglomeration of his thickest juiciest tunes, straight from his badass proverbial bag of bass. Coming off a busy summer touring schedule, these tunes have recently been put to the test (and gobbled up) on dancefloors all across the North American continent.

A classically trained pianist, Philadelphia's James Watts's work now embraces the bulk of electronic genres, including breaks, IDM, techno, and downtempo. His albums on Artificial Music Machine that are full of visionary dimensions, fusing together a dexterous knowledge of sound synthesis, deep emotional articulation, and solid melodic intuition. Peppered throughout these monumental statements are releases with class labels such as Somnia, Thoughtless Music, and his own outlet, KiloWatts Music, that celebrate his adept technical expertise, often bringing a whirlwind of digital wizardry in the form of glitches and edits. The list of projects and collaborations continues to grow, but some of the highlights are: Skeetaz, with breakbeat cohort Bil Bless brings hard-hitting digital glitched-out psychedelic funk. His collaboration with singer Peter Van Ewijk is a mystical ride with vocals and guitar, nested atop edgy electronica. With Tanner Ross, an eerie style of dark techno is born under the name Voodeux for Dirtybird’s techno sublabel Mothership. Fellow Philadelphian MC Amagine delivers consciousness-driven motifs in their digital glitch-hop project called Super Galactic Expansive.

When she’s not traveling the world collecting music and experiences, she’s home learning how to best share them with you. Melanie’s love of electronica started back in 1992, when she first became exposed to such seminal acts as The Orb, Aphex Twin, Moby, and other early pioneers of the nascent dance music scene. Eschewing traditional limits of what constitutes “chillout” material, Melanie’s djing style encompasses a broad cross section of musical styles, combining elements of trip-hop, dub, house, drum n’ bass, IDM, ambient, techno, and trance, with worldbeat and ethnic influences.
