hei ppl...
last night I've tryed to make something "strange" with one bass-line. Normally we all use sixteens for building the bass lines but this time I've divide the sixteens into 3 smaller notes. in this case 1/96.. the overall lenght is still 1/16 but this way the bass sounds.. wow.. really great!!! I even noticed there is no need of use the bitcrusher or quadrafuzz or trash over the bass as the 3 1/96 glued togahter make very interesting overdrive like effect. also I noticed that if i put this small 3 notes into a harmonic order (like a chord) the bass sounds even more strange but very very nice...
Does anybody tryed this already? I was told some dark artist use this technique...

You suck!
Too lazy to shut down my pc, hook up the soundcard, turn on the monitors, cubase, draw in the notes etc etc..
I'd rather just click & listen to your sample!
Don't be shy now, we'll be kind!

Just tried it and i think it's killer ... if you're writting music at 22 bpm or slower.

age of panic: funny guy hihihihi
actually the idea is to give an extra "GRRRRRRR" to the bass notes without fusing them.. this can happen from a distortion applied over them.
sure i'm speaking for bpms above 150. Under there is no need
anyway.. this looks like a fake tip. Dont take it seriously. If smbdy achieve or have achieved a good bass thus way please report.
anyway.. I'll keep experimenting. if u put this small grains of notes on an harmonic order the effect is very nice. as u've put a overdrive over them.. without puting any. so if u put one extra still the effect can be better. also if the last note is a bit larger than the first 2 1/96 still u have more body and heat in the bass.
this is for speed, tigh and fat bass-lines.

I've try it already with the ES1 - sound great! also with the tau1 but had to put some extra EQ on the highs, with VB1 sounds horrible, but VB1 sounds great alone with the traditional way. anyway.. if this "fake-trik" functions it gives a lot of new posibilities of bass-sculpting. isnt it? ehehehe for some crazy breaks? for misitical forest trance (if u put the 3 notes as a chord).. etc etc.
faxi, tsabeat, friends if u achieve some good bass this way, let me know please

just open your sequencer, put it to 1/96 snap resolution and break the 1/16 notes into 3 parts. there u have a listen.

It will sound different with every synth and with every setting of those synths. So lets hear the results that you got.

@undertow
my friend, it was just a joke...
I cannot put something that dont convince me first. thats why I put this topic. I told earlier... it might be a fake tip.
it sound interesting but not 100% convincing. thats why I'm trowing this Idea for all your better producers and realy experienced musicians around here to see if it can work.
..for me its just a baby idea.. if I can make a bass line tht sounds better this way I'll post it for sure... but this thingy occured to me last night. and today I just shared it with all you..
anyway I've learned a lot from your posts undertow. So i pass u the ball. as u're much better producer and experienced musician please try this tecnique. maybe something interesting can come out...
...maybe its just a shit idea that came from my freshly, nice smelling joint
see ya and happy tweaking
