First of all, I have learned to so much just by reading posts here, thanks to everybody for this place existing. With that out of the way, I have been making electronic music for the past year and am finally attempting to dabble in trance, hopefully of the psychedelic nature. I would like whoever's curious or interested to listen to how the song in question [LINK: http://www.last.fm/music/Nasrudin/Unreleased/2009-08-31c ] starts, and please tell me for one, how it sounds on your monitors, and if you spot any glaring production awfulness.
I've been battling with brining those initial percussive parts out more when both bass and lead are active, and with squeezing more interesting sounds in somewhow, but the mix just seems to eat everything up haha. Between panning + .25ms l-r difference + ms processing and a lot of equing I've been trying different things but haven't really been satisfied. I am begining to automate these elements and therefore tweak them throughout the song, and it makes a difference, but if you can suggest something else for me to try and learn, then please
