i feel this was one my biggest achievements as a psy freak !! 
these guys were over (most of them non trance listeners ) and really wary about coming over to my place coz most of the time i'm blasting what to them is boom boom nonsense  .,, couple of beers and a few smokes down listening to the doors , jethro tull floyd etc , i thought the party needed a little pump so i decided without letting them know i'll play this nice set that i'd downloaded .,, ok ok now dont you anti- p2p guys jump on me.,  this nice cpu promotional set that surrender had put up five six months back if i'm not mistaken .,, some nice twisted twilight and full on smashers in there .,, now this party consists of people who are not really into trance dance oriented music ,.. yeah they like their psychedelic rock (radiohead ,floyd etc) and they'd never been exposed to music that i was about to play .,, now curiosity was killing the cat  regarding how they are gonna react to this .,,
the set starts out really nice and smooth and there's a gradual build up and around the 20 th minute there's a sweet track in there ( btw i still dont know what this track is  ) .,, man the party was on their feet and absolutely stomping .,, and i mean it man STOMPING  
and yes they saw/heard / stomped most of the set through .. tho only a couple of my mates actually survived the entire set.. they really enjoyed 'the journey as some of them put it .,,
now most of them are atleast giving trance a listen and exploring genres subgenres ...

Yeah.. I guess its a cool thing what you have done. Usually I feel its just not worth it... I mean... I fell in love with psytrance just by listening to 2 tracks at a friends house.. And my friends that dont enjoy trance, they usually ear some trance that i play.. at home.. or in the car.. whatever...
So I figure.. If something inside them made "click" by listening, they would like it by now... But they dont
Other people sometimes just say "Yeah.. thats nice" .. but they dont really mean it... I feel kind of down by perceiving that reaction from people, thats why I avoid forcing people into listening trance. |
