forgive my English, I had no opportunity to learn better..
I want to cut a 45Hz sound frequencies leaving intact the
above, I have tried different programs but if I put 45Hz
begin to cut a little early and ruin the sound, apart,
is not a real cut, just lower the volume..
I wonder if there's any way to make a
real cut in some frequencies ( ex. 0-45hz )
thanks 4 all |

Hard cuts will cause artifacts or strange resonances, most filters are not that steep.
If you want something really hard you can try Waves Low Lin EQ (i believe that's the name) it can make really precise cuts, but i don't recommend it; btw cutting a little early is not ruining the sound, it provides smoothness. |

the steepest quality filter i know is the UAD Cambridge EQ, but there are a lot of linear phase eqs that can do the job just as good. (the waves linear phase eq is not one of them, at least not according to my experience.)
if u need to cut a sound that has a fast attack (transient) i would suggest not to use a linear phase eq since it blurs the attack. a good software choice would be the sonnox eq, it has a 36db hp filter and it does the job very well and sounds good.
also you should know that if u use not a linear phase eq to high pass, then it shifts the phase of the sound that your processing but its not always a bad thing.
anyway if you post a sample of what your trying to high pass i could help more. |

q10 (hp x 10) on 45hz will give you -120db
i like Fl eq2 the best , one filter with steep settings i think its up to -48 db or -36 and its enough for me anyway... i like the natural sound and use mostly 12-24 db filters www.sattelbattle.com
