It's just because the light squares next to "A" are lighter color than the light squares next to "B" and the dark squares are darker closer to "B" than the ones next to "A"..
I can see that with my bare eye.. test it if you want to..

our brain is just a hell of a machine !
Detox:
u think that one square is white and the other - black, but they are of the same color.
this is because your brain assumes that this is a chess board and it "knows" where the white squares are and twhere the black (unless u have a very special brain)

also, notice "A" is in lighter writing on the grey background whilst "B" is in darker writing, probably also helps to fool us...
