i think i started to get "pro" after djing alot of parties 
so i realize exacly what crowd likes and dislike..
around 4 years to get first realese (but i did all all by myself no one ever show me even what is pitch cutoff not to mention automations sidechain and envelopes)
and after 2 more years since then i think my latest trax sound abit better then some good relaeses i heard

in the theory you are pro when you get paid for the first time, i believe to go pro you need to dedicate 1oo% to what you love doing ... beign carefull of not loosing the target... which is to make people dance and connect with theirselves through the trance state, i know what people want cauz i danced a lot, and listened 2 lotz of styles, artists, deejeys, and saw the response of my body, as well as the others around me... we as megalopsy had to release lots of songs through the internet, for ex.: a promo album mastered and released directly through a mp3 crew. that way we got our first record deal, but yet we are far from living from music, i had my geeky job as well as filter does, but it is fun for now, we are going pro for sure. if i kwow what that means

it all happend at the same time for me ...actually thats right now ...
just got signed to a label...releasing a few tracks in a months....and starting to get big djing and Live act gigs....Iv been djin for a year and producing for 4 years |

im make psytrance for almost 7 years.
4 years on cubase nonstop.
djing at parties, reading turtorials and expiramenting with non-trance productions.

it think there are thousands of pro artists, including all the genres of music, that made thousands of dollars releasing music and gig'ing around the world and still suck big time.
at least this is how i see it .
