Hi
I am thinking of selling maudio oxygen 49 midi controller thinking that midi technology might get outdated in future.
I am not getting time to produce any music these days.i feel that if i plan to produce music like in 8-10 years from now my midi controller might get outdated as there will be new controllers in the market
i am confused between whether to sell it or keep it

To be quite frank iPads etc. are making a huge impractical both here in this scene & in other aspects of EDM (Sasha does most his work on iPad for example in the prog scene).
Unless you are going to invest in that alternative I don't see midi disappearing anytime soon. I mean, a whole bunch of new synths with midi in them have just come out & Expert Sleepers make midi for Eurorack modular systems. They wouldn't invest if there was no future in it.
For now I use midi controla both keyboard & APC 40. I think within 2 years I'll be using iPad. Lighter, user friendly & many amazing apps coming out.

I meant impact not impractical sorry.
I personally see it as tactile vs non-tactile in the next year or so.
I'm a tactile guy so I'll always use hardware in the studio, but performance wise once iPads have been improved for the job I'd rather carry 2 iPads than a laptop & midi-controller to a gig. Especially as part of my current digital dj/live set I also lug a x0xb0x & my colleague uses his Dark Energy live as ell, so we also have 12 channel mixer.
All in all it's a massive hassle to carry around & rock up an hour early to set it all up. If we could have 2 iPads, x0xb0x & Dark Energy only it'd be much easier. I'm keeping a keen eye on products & apps.
I'm sure other pads will catch up, I only use Apple as my entre house is set up now for Apple products so its easier to just keep using.
I'd be just as happy with non-Apple but my wife had her apartment Apple'fied prior to us marrying
Apple products are very disability friendly so that's why she's a huge fan
