i dont know about mopho, theres nowhere around here to test it unfortunately, i wanted to listen the analog oscillators so much, but the Blowfeld has very snappy envelopes and nice waveforms if you likes its sound, you can get great and very tight basses out of this little beast..again still wonder how the Q or the +phoenix with its analog filters, i think this synth blows away many va's

Aight... i have Mopho...
Its a nice synth, but i am having some issues with the midi communication. Eventho this synth is far from what i dreamt it was, its still phat sounding, cheap, yellow... which was some of the main reasons i bought it. The knobs suck, yes.
Mod matrix is very nice and has many options.

If i was to buy my first synth, this would not be it, more likely a nord rack, virus...          www.parvati-records.com

i know all these little machines with great sounds are very tempting, you always wanna dig them and mess around, but im not sure if a blowfeld would fulfill the the hole "thing" or never get bored, im not going to buy another synthesizer probably till i have a amount of money to get a big Q(willtakelOOng), its so great having every knob on hand , every function with great knobs, great sound and its dark layout, its fantastic, with this one i doubt theres a chance to ask for another VA, except going back to analogs (or waiting for the Stromberg as well )

Aeon said :

"it is also monotimbral, in that you only have one Mopho part at a time. with a Virus, for example, you're actually getting 16 synths in one."

So, that means that with for example a Virus you could make a whole track with it, using midi channels from 1 to 16. Correct ?
Whereas with the Mopho, only one sound at the time.

How would you go around with a monotimbral synth in order to use it in more tracks in simultaneous ? Would the sounds have to be converted to audio in order to do that ? Think so!

Please guys....Thanks

yes you have to record to audio but it offer many advantages over midi to work like that ( if the synth can save patchs for back up )

First of all, everything from Dave Smith Instruments is da bomb!

I can definitely recommend all their products. for making my evolver desktop sound stereo I like to apply various fx, from stereoizer to pipe and klippers method to e.g a bionic delay...

From what little I've tried it I would personally not recommend a Blofeld. Go for DSI instead. Affordable and rock solid hardware!           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

surely it offers patch saving... back in the day Dave Smith made some of the first synths that did have patch recall, so i'm guessing his latest one does!

recording your synth parts to audio is a good way of working anyway - because audio is so much more flexible than midi...
