i think one of the best things about america, something that is kind of unique, is the vast amount of public lands that one can hike and camp on....Europe is almost all private property, Southeast Asia is the same but more dangerous, as well as South America.... if you have time, you could hike all or part of either the Appalachian Trail or the Pacific Crest Trail, both of which wind their ways for hundreds of miles through mostly all wilderness....if theres no time for this, look into national and state parks, preserves, wilderness areas, etc, such as Glacier National Park here in Montana, Yosemite in California, Yellowstone also in Montana, Rocky Mountain in Colorado, or any of the countless others dotting the U.S. ....quite extensive lands that are wild or close to wild
