I have to say that the few times my wife has gone to bush doofs over the last 13 years, the way that both international & local producers & punters in Australia have treated her really made me appreciate this scene.

She has cerebral palsy & every time she has come to a bush doof people make the time to sit and chat, buy her some chai & help out with her wheelchair.

No other outdoor festival really has treated her so well as the psy trance one

I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy!

once i was going to play at a local Belgian goa party. while i was dancing before my set, i hit my glasses with my hand. And when i lean down to grab it, it was gone (well there was 250-300 goa freaks dancing crazy). i was so stressed cause my glasses' number is 5,50..so i was like how am i going to play without my glasses. i went to the friend who was organizing the party. i told him i have no idea how am i going to play, i am like blind, i would be glued to decks and wont be able to see people and their reactions to the music.
anyway, he said i am going to stop the music and tell people to look for it. i was like'' what?? no no no no , don't please''. he was like 'i wont be able to sleep if i dont.'
he went to the stage and told the djs to stop playing and shouted to people to look for a lost glasses. all of a sudden 300 people stopped dancing and started to look for my glasses. i was so embarrassed , i was insisting him to start it again..after 3-4 minutes they started again.. .
i did play my set and it went quite good. end of the party girlfriend of a friend came up with my glasses which she found around, not broken, not any scratch.true magic.

one of the many beautiful stories i experienced in this scene.
i don't even think my close friends would do something like that.

I have so many good experiences taking place in the scene!!! I would point out the "sharing spirit" that i tend to encounter in the gatherings...even from people who dont belong to the scene and are just "infected" with the spirit!!!!!

Well, but this (seen from a critical point of view) could also have been in the organisers interests, since he needed a DJ ... and the people had to search, what else should they have done? ...
Sorry, that I am the unspiriter here; other than that, yeah, sounds cool and nice

yeah this sort of things are the real pearls of the mentality from this scene that I always appriciated more than anything else.
That you can come as you are no dress code or any other clichee and you get the same good vibes if you open yourself as anyone else.
That is amazing.           https://soundcloud.com/shivagarden

Nothing anymore, now that the music played is sophomoric and the community has become just a scene.

hehe that 'stopping the music' thing reminds me of something that happened at an Oregon outdoor party a couple weekends ago. Free party in the woods, permitted and everything....but yeah cops show up anyways to check on stuff, we show them the permit they head back to the main road, but are still hanging around.

Some foolish person decides that now is the proper time to set off a firework. In the cop's own words...."we don't care about your dope or your music, but that firework is a federal offense. Either you give us the person who set off the firework so we can fine them, or we're shutting the entire party down"

So yeah, this was at like....1-2 in the morning? All of a sudden the music stops and there is an announcement that the person who set off the firework needs to come forward or the entire party is getting busted. Sure enough the person comes forward near-immediately and gets fined $500 :\ I don't know if the same thing would have happened at a non-psy party - my thinking is that if the community was not so close-knit that the party would have ended right there.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe
