The Untz Challenge – Contest Announcement
TheUntz.com is proud to announce The Untz Challenge! We encourage artists, DJs, and producers from around the world to enter this unique competition, with the goal to find new talent from across the electronic music spectrum. Contestants will battle it out by gaining the popular fan vote throughout several rounds of a tournament-style competition. The winner will receive a bevy of prizes including a copy of Ableton Live 8, a Novation Launchpad, and a one-on-one critiquing session with an established electronic music artist and/or producer.
Beginning this Tuesday, September 14th, contestants will have 2 weeks to submit tracks to The Untz SoundCloud account.* Contestants should go to www.theuntz.com/theuntzchallenge and submit their tracks by clicking on the SoundCloud DropBox. There is no cost to upload a file or setup a basic SoundCloud account.
Following this submission period, The Untz staff will review the entries and select the top 64 tracks. These tracks will be subdivided into 4 brackets à la NCAA March Madness, according to broad genre similarities. Starting Tuesday, October 5th, voting will be opened to the public. Each week, for four weeks, we will open up the voting for one of the sixteen-team brackets. The top 2 finishers from each bracket will then be pitted in a head-to-head battle for the bracket title beginning Tuesday, November 2nd. The “Final 4” bracket winners will face each other one last week for first prize in The Untz Challenge.

Best of all, the “Elite 8” finalists get a chance to have their tracks critiqued by some of the most advanced users of Ableton software in the electronic music industry today.
