I love progressive, I make progressive, but this kind of music is crap.
I understand there are more people who will like it, because of its commercial aspect, but that is just not my vision of progressive psychedelic trance.
Agree, I see more and more people checking out the parties and honestly this groovy stuff is catchy and its nice to move to but when you dive into the releases you see whats going on with this kind of progressive
interested where the darker stuff will go, Lyctum for example is bringing some fresh stuff aka sounds never heard before, dark but also very trancy

lyctum, dark?
that shit is super fluffy/cinematic/uplifting, what track have you heard by lyctum that has a dark atmosphere?
Not trying to be 'right' here but I'm just super genuinely surprised that anyone could listen to that music and call it dark o.O

man, for sure you know that a lot of people think that way
btw people start to screw good music at the beginning of XXI century 70's & 80's ftw!
well yeah but i don't think its a thing stated in the XX1. always been that way, in any art in any age. there is TRUE and there is FAKE. thing today is that the fake is very easy to create (or buy), so there is fake everywhere. overwhelmed by fakeness, not just music in any art or entertainment. how many good movies for every bad movie these days? heck, how many nice natural tits for every silicon boob these days? his bass is really nice, I love that thick lazery sound he's got going.
well not dark in the sense of dark psy definitly not lol, but the atmosphere thats carried seems a little bit dark to me from time to time but at the same time very trancy or as you said:"super fluffy/cinematic/uplifting"
Hologram is a good example, I really get lost sometimes, especially when I have had some help
but whatever such sounds are not heard that often/not that much sounds which are listend to death but I would appareciate if we could so
and that all is drawn in comparison to stuff like class a, fabio and such
ps: As I am talking about Hologram , where to get such vowel sounds, I fuckin love them they often get me goose bumps, like at the end of the break in atlantic spirit, dunno why

Like this?
To me it sounds like a bass with 8 instances of Quadrafuzz.

That's a pretty good example yeah, but this one is more of the type of lazer sound that I'm used to from him or consider 'that lyctum lazer bass sound'

btw many stabs what you can find on sample libraries are coming from sampled funk music (live instruments) so sometimes it is not that easy to make it from scratch
Nice! Had been thinking about massive, but i havent used that synth a lot, because when i started making music i thought it was too insane to figure out Been using the last couple of hours and it seems to be a perfect tool for this genre.

After that Lyctum bass thread I have obsession to make that bassline over and over again, as someone wrote it's U he Phaser on manual mode, deeper 24/48,wet 100%, tweak feedback&freq till you sound like him, drop some quadra or any other multi band distortion and instant win with waves c4/c6, it get even more interesting if you drop one instance on k&b group channel, plastic as it gets, sure tweak the synth to have nice firm bass, but after effects it will put smile on your face instantly
Enjoy

wow. thanks! uhbik phaser just really added a lot to the bass on this track though it doesn't sound like lyctum bass but I only tweaked for a couple minutes.
