hello ppl!
please write me some instruments / effects which i should use to make these leads sounds like russian! i mean these like kindzadza's, psykovski's, etc........ main leads made of sawtooth and triangle waves. i cannot make it in any instrument that i have

They use basically Nord Lead & Waldorf Q.
If you want to create the sounds like waldorf q use waldorf a1 from composition Cubase sx.A1 this simplified engine from Waldorf micro q synthesizer. |

Try synth1, Some Fm modulation,and low pitch, Hp-filter, try a long filter-envelop attack for fuller sounds and longer filter sweeps..
actually i dont know which sound you talk about exactly 
but i guess its those sawtooth Fm mod sounds.. try routing it through the lfos for some fun..
care to give a example of some specific sound?
anyway give synth1 a try... it can do lots of things! |

Yeah i know nordlead can make it;) but i dont have nord lead and my computer dont support PC vst plugs ( i didnt heard about Mac version of Discovery and Waldorf Q f.e.)
Is there Waldorf Q MacPPC plugin??

Yeah i mean these sawtooth waves make it sound like that! 
Anyways thanks guys, i try to find these VST for my computer

Use Cubase SX for Mac. Waldorf Q mac? Such does not exist Only Waldorf A1 in cubase Sx.In spite of simplified architecture in compare with Waldorf Q this synth practically in the same way sounds basically as Waldorf Micro q (osc sound,filters,adsr)..For nord sound you must use Clavia Nord Modular G2 Mac demo http://www.clavia.se/products/nordmodular/software.htm, there much restrictions but this possible uses (control with midi or built step seq) and grab sound with soundcard(no render function.

Hey man I just use SYNTH1 for all those leads and it works fine (best nord lead emu imo).Search the forum and you'll find examples on how to make the sounds using it...i'm prety sure there's a whole topic on it (or about the discovery which is more or less the same thing)

I can get pretty close to the Kindzadza type lead with the Pro 53. You don't HAVE to have some ultra expensive vintage synth to do it. |

U can also use z3ta for making the. First osc saw/fm, second osc saw. Some tuning here and there, matrix mods and some effects and u got it

FM is certainly part of it, and the sawtooth wave to... Then just pitch them veeeeery low and modulate/automate the cutoff of a bandpass filter over it. With the correct synth this will give a result very close to what u are looking for... (i do it with just 1 voice in Crystal from green oak, freeware, with the simple sawtooth in fm mode and pitched very low, modulating the cutoff with the envelopes/lfo's of that great instrument, and it sounds almost exactly the same)
also, this is just the basic sound, they always put a string of FX on it i think (but that differs from song to song) |
