well...
we have seen a lot of tracks made in the past few years which are remixes of tracks from other genres...say for example...metalica-seek and destroy(skazi remix) ..

all i wonder is in case this track reaches the ears of anyone concerned in any way to the band..will they be allowed to sue artists like skazi(not only him anyone else who remixes other artists tracks even ppl like 50 cent and britney spears whose tracks are also UNfortunately remixed by our psy artists )

am sure there isnt a problem when one psy track is remixed by another artist(correct me if i am wrong)...

and also when samples from movies are used...are the liable to be sued by the production house??

jes being curious about the whole thing..

thanx

1. yes, but not likely.
2. no, as long as the files were given from one artist to another.
3. yes, but not likely.           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

Our scene is too small that anybody would really worry about it.

Actaully with Metallica's attitude, I'd think if they saw Skazi playing the seek and destroy remix to thousands of people like he does, I bet they'd have something to say about it.

Anybody know if he actually got permission?

Anybody want to test it out and send metallica a copy and maybe mention how skazi is one of the biggest stars in the scene (I want to throw up saying that)?

Nothing wrong with Metallica's attitude. they just worried abt themselves. Nothing wrong with that.

Skazi def did not get permission!! Probably just sent a note sayin " KIlla song. I make KILLA Remix . KILLLLA!! "

Forget about Skazi period!! He's in a totally different world.!           ~*** You can tell By the way i use my walk, Im a woman's man, No time to Talk***~

The amount of records/CDs/mp3s these tunes shift, are WAY below the threshold at which the tunes will generate enough cash to make the labels/artists sue-worthy.
When Skazi will sell enough copies of bootlegs to cover Metallica's lawyers' time, then they will sue him or anyone else who makes bootlegs.
Until that threshold is reached, these bootlegs are nothing but free publicity (and remember, there's no such thing as bad publicity...no matter how much the booties suck) forMetallica, BS, "x" mainstream act, inside the trance world.           Me>You

Great idea. Let's ENCOURAGE them to sue Skazi. Then we can deal with everyone in Hollywood sueing us for all of the movie samples we use in tracks.

You know what I'd like to see ...

Courtney Love vs. Skazi ....

in an all-out case fight over the fact that the latter used 'Smells like teen spirit'...

Lol ... She'll prolly kick his ass tho.

But someone should actually do something. If anyones seen the gathering 2003 DVD ... Skazi opens with 'Smell Like Humos Spirit'. And its to a crowd of thousands. The guy acts like he's God! ... waving his hands as if he's the one that made the track in the first place. All he did was add breakdowns and a bassline. Bullshit man... if youre gonna make money off someones music, royalty must be paid!

As a side note.... I dont even know why the psy industry uses Hollywood samples. Theyre fun to liten to .. .but when ure raving .. its just annoying. If you notice most of the good new artists : Sub6/Fatali/Pop Stream/The Melowskys ... dont use any of these cheezy samples. they actually make most of their own from scratch...thats the way to be.

Or put a Mantra or something in place of a a voice sample.
Or just a wise , MEANINGFUL saying from whatever language u want, be it Japanese or hebrew !

Im so sick and tired of hearing samples from Resident Evil and Alien !! arrghh!
