myself using reaktor for 90% of my track
and then again i dont do any "pro" mixing at my studio
when time to mix for label i go to friends studio with good acoustics and with some cheap/fancy analog sound procesors and do the mix
thats the minimum i can get
its easier and cheaper to use cracked softs for sure

I have recorded some Jupiter 8 soundz from a friends studio,some filter sweeps,pads,and leads,recorded everything in a treated room,with wall mounted genelecs,soundz gr8...what a monster,he has some more analogue monsters,like a matrix;ob;juno;Andromeda...
When i came to my humble studio,i realized that i had to scratch the low end from the pads(wich was IMO the best from analogue source),so they could fit in the mix...Well guess what:the only thing i kept were the sweeping filters!!!
Im not defending crap Vsti´s sounding plastic, but there are so many interesting soft solutions to make something sound pro....
Bottom line to me is do/use whatever you need to make your own stuff !!!
If you cant live without analogue, get it ...
If you prefer VA´s and Software, get it...

Our main goal is still the same

This thread became another analog vs. digital stuff... argh!
Analog Hi-end devices like Manley/Neve/SSL/API/ etc. are very very amazing, but if you can afford some of these ones. I think I can be happy using something like "JESKOLA BUZZ" and still be famous (James Holden used only Buzz and today it's a hot/famous DJ/producer/remixer). So, I really like a monster pad from my Jupiter 6, but sometimes the Infector machine synth from Buzz can be better than a massive JP6 on the mix. I think it's okay to produce and remix using only VSTs. If you are happy, everyone will be happy too.
