>>You can process soft synths without recording them.
...i thought we speak about hardware synths.....
I know the Virus is a hardare synth, but imho is not that special compared to good soft synths, like the Creamware ones for example (they don't take CPU either).
>>I think u need a special audio or dsp card to run them ..NO?It is not normal softsynth....it is software panel of dsp synth...so different story from softsynth
....Never heard a Creamware synth so i don't know about it....
>>Anyway you can process any sound without recording it using hardware effects
U can process it using software effects also....
......but can u send these signals to groups and generally do what u can do to softsynths???
I am not sure about the Virus B OscS ......i have a C!But lots of artists told me that is similar sounding......BTW One year is not very much time to learn 100% what a virus can do.......if nobody showed to u........ |

The Creamware synths are running from a dedicated processor, just like the Virus. Off course the Virus has the panel (is it that that makes it a hardware synth?), but the Creamware synths (Minimax and Prophet 5 emulation) come in boxes.
You should check out the Creamware synths if you haven't, I think they are some of the best ones around.
You can using a hardware mixer, but then again this converstion is going away from what you originaly suggested.
I learned what the Virus can do within a couple of months mate. I have been using synths for quite a while. Although I don't personally like it's sound, it is a versatile general purpose synth, or "one off synth" if you don't have any other synths or racks with effects.
