~~~The Village Presents Acid Test v2.0~~~
The Acid Tests were a series of psychedelic parties held by Ken Kesey in the San Francisco Bay Area during the mid 1960s, centered entirely around the use, experimentation, and advocacy of LSD, also known as "acid."
The name "Acid Test" was coined by Kesey, after the term "acid test" used by gold miners in the 1850s. He advertised the parties with posters that read, "Can YOU Pass The Acid Test?", and the name was later popularized in Tom Wolfe's 1968 book, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test. Musical performances by the Grateful Dead were commonplace, along with black lights, strobe lights, and fluorescent paint. The Acid Tests are notable for their influence on the LSD-based counterculture of the San Francisco area and subsequent transition from the beat generation to the hippie movement....
<<~WELCOME TO ACID TEST v2.0~>>
Its come to that time of the year again when The Village swings back into action. We have put together a vast array of talent for your listening pleasure. The party will be kicking off to the sounds of Phat Planet followed by Sound Proof, from here we slowly but steadily pick up speed as our early evening artists drop psychedelic sounds to tease your senses and ease you into a weekend of utter bliss!
As the sun slips away behind the hills, so the tempo will increase, we have had our students hard at work in the studio perfecting their trade and they'll be tearing it before mid night. From here on out there is no turning back as Rubix Qube and Biorhythm will own the early morning hours closesly followed by Jester and The Skragg with an early morning breakfast punch served by Xatrik. Leading us on through the day will be E.M.P and a sneaky surprise to close the party!
