Right folks, this thread was inspired by the guy who had the core 2 duo and loaded 40 instances of vanguard....
Someone commented that this cant truly be a judge, so here it is....
THE MAGNETO TEST
Backed by SOUND ON SOUND magazine this test is reliably....
SO...go to this link, dl the test for your DAW (Cubase, Sonar, Nuendo ,...sorry to the logic users)

ok i tried the test on the original link i posted and it seems a lil strange, cos it is set with all their routing etc...

My first results:
Computer: Intel 4 - 3Ghz with hyperthreading, 1.5 gig DDR RAM, MSI 865 Neo2 mobo
DAW: Cubase SX 3.1
Soundcard: Audiotrak Maya44
Latency Settings: Input - 46.440 ms, Output - 46.440 ms
RESULT: 17 Magnetos |
