The truthfull info about Usta's Compilation
"United Nations Of Trance:Russia" compiled by G-Light ...
Hi everybody!
We are the participants of Hologram and Secret Trick projects (Shankar and Gravizapa),producers from Moscow,Russia..
And we want to complain on Usta Rec. regarding its release "United Nations Of Trance:Russia" wich is to present trance russian producers
to psytrance listeners all over the globe...
so what's wrong with that comp:
1.The mastering of compilation is just a joke.... its terrible and never beats proffesional ones..
we cant play our trax from this kind of "cd" at the parties ...
2.the primitive cover design wich makes the listener smiling...cos of its poverty ..
but the main thing is that all the tracks are mislisted! we mean that the track #9 Neospherix - Neosphere is the Secret Trick's Triplet Trcik ...
so it regards the rest of tracks.... the compilation has the incorrect tracklist!
we contacted Zoo-B and he just said "u guyz conctact Mid Assaf he did it"...
all that facts forces us to think USTA is absolutly unproffesional one...
please refer to CORRECT tracklist here:
http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/ust/ust1cd505.html
and we expecting no payments for 2 our trax on that comp... Zoo-B told it's "loosing" money or something...
concluding the topic we wanna tell take care of your creativity - dont send your demos to such a label as USTA
PLUR from Russia!

Zoo-B havent given YSE the correct info on a track!! though we noticed him about this fact! he didnt inform us about release of the track on YSE's last VA...

Thanks for your mail. The track was licensed from USTA Records with an official heads of agreement. I am not in a position to comment about what you have outlined in your mail, please get back to USTA to clarify this.

This is what happens when people who BADLY want to release their 'music' give their tracks here and there just to see their name on a cd backcover.
Half the blame on the label and half the blame on the artists so you guys sort this out in private and save us from another USTA/Spliff Music/Israel Cheese Factory Label issue dealing with bad masterings, awfull covers, wrong tracklists, delayed payments and non existent royalties.
Sorry guys but we really had enough of this shit.

its not artists fault,
not every artist goes on forums and reads shit,
and there are many other labels that play unfair.
Its not shit it is one more fact that will help others.

erm sorry guys, but blaiming the artist for a labels bad behaviour is really wrong. An artists copyright is set at the point of writing the track. No one has the right to exploit an artist, no matter what reason.
you dont have to have a contract to pursue things legally, but it does help.
I know of a few law firms in UK that do cases like this & only charge % of $$ they get back from the debtor.
They do all of europe, but not sure israel
Nothing knocks such a using person / buisness down a few notches like being publicly told he /they is/are a criminal for what he did |

from my personal experience: don't trust USTA. it doesn't matter if you have it on paper or whatnot...
why would a lawyer be interested in helping an artist getting his royalties and/or advance money for a % if the whole sum for a track is in most cases under a 1000$?
a percentage (f.e. 20%) of that sum is peanuts to a lawyer. i think he couldn't care less...

I agree with Franny. It doesn't sound like the artists concerned did anything wrong.
Detox - if you've "had enough of this shit" then maybe as a respected label you could contact USTA and tell them to pull their socks up - this is becoming a recognised 'standard' behaviour for well-known labels in this scene and if you all aren't to be tarred with the same brush, honest labels will need to make some sort of stand against this way of working. It does the scene no good (both creatively and in a business sense) for people to think this is the way things are done and if people lose trust in the companies that release their music it will affect all labels relationships with artists.

Colin i dont think that i got the right to say to someone else how to do his work.I understand that if a label fucks up its artists then its bad for the whole scene and gives many labels a bad name but still i cant just pop up and tell to the guys at USTA and Spliff Music or whatever label how to do their job.
I mean they can easily say to me 'fuck you and mind your own business' and guess what they will be 100% right like i will also be right if i say the same to someone who wants to tell me how to operate my label.
I care about our small scene but i can only take care of my labels issues and just make sure i work with the right people and to not mess with bad named labels and artists.Thats all i can do and if all labels would do that then today we wouldnt have problems with unpayed artists and bad labels.
Me i continue blaming the artists for releasing their music in these bad named labels because all around the internet i can find at least 100 topics saying how bad USTA and Spliff Music treated them on various issues.
I really dont understand how these artists think and operate,i mean dont they ask to whom they trust their music and talent?Dont they check out a labels history before they release on it?NO THEY DONT they just want to see their name somewhere and then they come online complaining that 'those bastards at the label ripped us off'.
Sorry but USTA has more than 30 releases and you still dont know that something is wrong with them?Sorry but you are either naive or you think we are stupid.
So half the blame on these 'i wanna be hotshot' artists and half the blame on the labels.
