So this weekend I finally lost it - went and hired myself a masonry drill that made the one in the Benassi video look like a toothpick and drilled some serious holes between the studio and the garage.
Two hours later and every piece of equipment with a fan in it has been installed in a ventilated (okay, so drilling twenty holes is only halfway there but you have to start somewhere) cupboard in the garage.
The result: Well... apart from the gigantic empty hole I can suddenly hear in my studio a few new observations present themselves:
* I can hear my computer displays. And they are surprisingly LOUD. Bzzzzzz. Anyone have any tricks to deal with this ? (Short of buying LCD panels)
* My windows resonate at around 85hz and threaten to pop out of their frames. Never knew that.
* Styrofoam under speakers and sub is a remarkably inexpensive way to get rid of rumble.
Anyone else on the forum studying the zen of silence ? Any hints ? Tips ?
Thanks!
