ok guys ,
here i go ...
i was listening to a commercially released trk [mp3 format ] in winamp ....
siddenly i started walking around in my hallroom and i did not notice any or very little difference in the way i heard the trk ... i mean the freq . response ...
but this is not the same ... when i work on nuendo with my mixes ... often i play the mixes frm the nuendo and it sounds different in different places in my hallroom as i move around ..... some where the bass is more , some where the kik is distant . some where the leads are blourred ... depending on where i am .... but this dosent happen while playign the commercial trk !!!
so am i doing sumthin wrong with the mixing ??
or is it tht bcoz the trk has been mastered , it dosent sound different even while i move in the hallroom !
pls help me guys , watz going on here ... ?
or is it tht my mixing is not still very professional ??

its too general by what your writing to know exactly whats going on...first of all
if your listening to another track on
your winamp walkin garound the room and
frequencies seem to change slightly from
spot to spot in the room...thats because
the mix and the mastering are goood and
the prescision of each sound is good.
the mixes you hear from the nendo will
probably sound the same (alot of frequency changes in different spots in the room)
if you bounce it and listen to it in winamp...i think as more as you mix it and
try to get to the presice sounds you want to
get, blended proparly with the rest of the
mix...pluss mastering should reduce it. |

i would not agree with Orik .......
i understand that mix you heard (the one that not chnages at any spot) is very very flat mix ..... means mid high based ..... but psytrance need to be low-mid mixed like techno so it would sound different coz low frequencies do their job .....
one thing you need to know ... that your bassline should be heard at any point of your room well that's what i call good bassline .....

GTN - What you're noticing there is standing waves, and phasing issues caused by the reflections in your room. It can be quite drastic. Look into getting some bass traps for the corners and edges of your room, and maybe get an enginer to come in and have a look to figure out where exactly to place them to sort it out.

You can't tell the difference in sound on that other track, cause you know it less than yours ...
Don't pay attention on how it sounds out of the "sweet spot" - mix only in it. And stop walking around your room

but as some other user put it ... after i bounce the mix to mp3 file frm nuendo , it sounds more flat ... so maybe sumthin to do with the bouncing and sumthin to do with my room !

There is no question about your room causing those troubles.
Bouncing to MP3 shouldn't change the sound so much (may be the high freqs, but also only a minor difference).
Try being really scientific about it - listen to both (MP3 and Nuendo) mixes on same level (don't master it outside), walking in same places in your room, with same background noises and don't move any objects.
Let us know the test result.
