WOW!
i had the honour of celebrating the 40th
anniversary of the legendary skatalites
with them and lots of other enthuastic people on a gig at tampere jazz festival
last friday. man o man . their live is just so amazing and easy. practice makes perfect...
if you haven't yet then you just must hop into to legendary spacecraft and let the skatalites blow you into space: 10, 9, 8, 7,
6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 jah rastafar-i!
this wasn't the only mind blower that evening: i strongly recommend rabih abou-
khalil and his band to everybody who gets
even the slightest chance to see them live. true mastering of their own instruments combined with rabih's twisted and hilarious
sence of humour build up a mysterious and
wonderful atmosphere somewhere between stand up comedy, experimental jazz and arabic dune tunes.
