..couldn't find a mother of cubase etc on the search function. So I start this thread.
First question : Is there in cubase (4) the bounce in place option and where is it?

im not sure what you mean,
but check out the "export audio"-window.
at the bottom there is a box you can click.
(it imports the bounce automatically)
cheers

Ok that's what I'm looking for A.Rosengren..of course with shortcut.. Thanks. So I have to dig deeper into shortcuts list and set an own for it.Thanks.. Hope it is in 4 available cuz got only 4 at home.
Orgytime thanks for your intention. The bounce in place is very useful ,you save a lot of time with a short cut and lots of space on hdd. In logic or protools it works like : for instance when you've created a region, let's say 16 bars of midi action with automation ,inserts ,sends automated etc.. you can click your bounce in place option/shortcut and you'll get a new track with an audio file that replaces all the midi, inserts etc and relieves cpu as well .The midi track you bounced in place is automaticcally muted ,and you can free your track from plug ins for more stability. It's very handy. Its bounced only as long as your midi file is,with an additonal tail if you wish to ,for example if your send had a big reverb or something. One shortcut saves time, and this is something I use all the time in logic.
Cheers

I don't know it's enough for me I'm happy with logic9,reason4,cubase4,ableton7 and protools8 and learning a bit renoise but little time I play often with cubase 6 when not at home, but version 4 is absolutely ok for my purposes.
What I really don't like is ableton 8 ..I find 7 better I'm a lazy bastard when it comes to learning new things I guess and stick to the old ones.
..haven't looked for bounce in place in 4 but if there is no in 4 so I definetly would go for 5 or 6 even just for this option.

They sound all diferent it is not true to say they sound the same ,as many claim ,because of I dunno maybe 32 bit or sth- they all differntly coded and sound different.
Ableton sound best to me when making kick and bass (just the sound is somehow dunno punchier) ,though I like ableton best for stretching things and some fun things like changing offset etc or fiting a sample perfectly into tempo at one turn.
Protools has great plug ins if not the best sounding for me,I mean great compressors reverbs especially, and has a nice workflow and lots of other options.
Cubase and vst snyhts is necesseary for me ,such a big area like audio editor/option worlds and nicely midi effects etc so many fun options.
Logic I feel meanwhile like my home and love to automate things in a nutshell and es2 and sculpture is so great, bounce in place and the whole workflow/options is fun and practical.
Reason is such a fun ,modular can get so complex and reason sound again so differnt even the reverb I like because of differnt sound, and the fun is big.
I make on each of them stuff for personal specific purpose.I like to combine & collect all files finaly to one.At the end I'm in wavelab or protools.
I have no real favourite.

yes they all sound different. The effects of course but also the same sample running through an output of reason will sound different if you run it throuhg an output of cubase or logic etc .
You can make an analysis in wavelab of the same source runing through different sequencers, you will get verious results.
A lecturer and coder(or programmer? my english still sucks) told me once it's because they just are coded differently, that is logical and has very less to do with just 32bit or theories like that.
But that is not the main reason for me that they just sound differnt,I just love them all because some things I like to create more in logic than in cubase and ohther in reason etc because of really many things.Or some things I can create faster with one than another,I hope it's understandable what I mean..I'm sure in german I would make more sense
And it's fun the main reason for me.Sometimes I'm bored with working on the same sequencer after a period of time than I change to another and get my fun again.
panike I love cubase too but the others tooo .It's a collectif love I have no favourite it's a fair harem.

This is so true ! .. but I love them different workflow approaches.Honestly, I'd be seriously sad if I should limit it just to one.
I don't like the term complex.. for instance.. a good sound is made fast out of 'simplicity' straight out of heart and mind.
I change the sequencers to get faster to some things I have in mind but I confess sometimes I like to route and just discover long.

I dont know if with other Daws are like cubase. But i love when you have your notes in the vst instrument, and you can cut, and break diferents parts of your melody without messing the whole sound
