Hello my dear ones!
So i was listening to new psytracks, and i stumbled upon this one, and i noticed that, the bass, is played in a very low note, without sounding like its exhausted and is about to die in a sec, its very firm! and good! and the kick, is just perfect!
You guys know what synth that would be freferable for that bass? and how the heck is it so plucky? love it
And the kick? is it a very lowpitched one? i also like the harmonics in it, is it slightly saturated you think?

I said I like it dirty, not muddy.

Also, recipe for the really nice sounding lead that kicks in at around 4:30?
two slightly detuned saws + bandpass filter+ a little resonance and some distortion?

Make a the envelope plucky?.
Its an allright baseline i think but nothing really special. Id say you can make this baseline in most synths. .
Good eq´d kick with a low fundamental i think And tight envelopes on the base.

sounds like a Broken Toy psybass. I asked him what he used before for this kind of bass, and he said he was using Trilogy. I've gotten similar ones in Trilogy also.

Derrrp...
Trilogy is intimidating, but my bass always end up sounding like something DNA would use...

btw. do any Psy artist use Trilian for bass?
Quite a few actually, I can only recall D-maniac telling me he uses it but Im sure others have told me the same.
It has really great envelopes and filters, I use omnisphere winch envelopes and filters are quite similar to Trilian. http://www.MindDoctorsMakeAcid.com

I don't know what DAWs people are using, but if anyone is using ableton: have you had good experience using operator for bass? or are particular VSTs better for whatever reason? To me it seems like a saw wave is a saw wave, its the envelope and the treatment that will get results.

The slightest deviation of the sawtooth's ramp shape will change the sound, drastically.
Each synth oscillator has its own characteristics.
