this is no old school.. just attempts to go back and recreate the old school sound.
for good choices in Goa style, i'd go check the psynews.org reviews - they've got the numerous <must hear> classics already highlighted. I personally like the Pleiadians/Etnica and old Hallucinogen albums.

no old skool
maybe pure planet isn't but the others are... it is released in 2003 - 2004 -2005 but those releases are 100% old skool my friend...
no doubt about it...
sure you can hear the difference between pleiedians and those releases but the technology of creating goa sounds is much better now comparing to 1997... that's the only difference you can hear... |

No. First track on this compilation is by Aes Dana. This CD was released by Suntrip Records, so Anoebis and Mars picked the tracks for it... not Aes Dana

old goa i like Koxbox.
this new goa albumes not very good. no thank you. benza okay. droidlock maybe okay. but rest not good. has melody but no universe like etnica.
dark sweddish music is new goa, like steptime. really psychodelic.

Everyone's recommending new stuff! What gives?
The classics are great to revisit... try these:
Jaia - Blue Energy
X-Dream - We Created Our Own Happiness
Koxbox - Dragon Tales
Psychopod - Headlines EP
Etnica - Alien Protein
Total Eclipse - Delta Aquarids
Prana - Geomantik
Blue Planet Corporation - Blue Planet
Lunar Asylum - self-titled (if you like the sounds of accceeeid!)
Astral Projection - Trust in Trance (3)
Slide - Unstable
Cosmosis - Cosmology
O.O.O.D. - A Live
Orion - Futuristic Poetry
Start with those if you want a real blast from the past go hunt down a review site called "TRIP" on third-eye.org.uk I think it is... you will see how people responded to the sounds when the music was new!

space cat: beam me up album
boa trance 3, Label:bochumer ton manufaktur, the down beat cd is a must, the trance cd has experimental tracks that i don't like that much but they're unique
