The population of Denmark is roughly 5,5 million, roughly half of Greece's and Kox Box is bigger than all of the artists you linked, put together.

Wrong. Everything is available on the net. The latest soft synth, compressor plug-in pack, hardware...whatever is available for foreign people, is available to us as well.

Not to mention Orion,Elysium,Emok, half the Iboga crew like Reefer Decree,Beat Bizzare and more.
Also Israel is smaller in population than Greece and the same applies for Sweden but they both have an endless list of artists out of whom many names are in the frontline of the scene like Astral Projection,Oforia,Space Cat,Astrix,Infected Mushroom,Alien Project,U Recken,Skazi,Domestic,Ace Ventura,Perfect Stranger from Israel (either you like their music or not) and Logic Bomb,Son Kite,Atmos,Ticon,Vibrasphere,S Range from Sweden and more i cant remember at the moment since i just woke up.
When it comes to music its not about quantity but other things.I mean USA,Japan and India are huge and all psy trance infected but i dont think that they have to present so many and so big artists like Israel,Sweden and Denmark that are tiny in front of them.
Music has more to do with the culture of countries rather their population size.

I think its called European Union or something and you can combine it with something named internet and credit card
P.S Very few people purchase hardware and software equipment from Greece, most buy from Germany from a very well known shop that i wont mention for promotional reasons but i guess everybody knows about it.

Its great if you personally like the Greek acts so much.
But your passion for Greek music does not change the raw fact that we are babies compared to foreign artists, on every single level.
Nothing to be dissapointed about though, more and more people get on the case and there will be another Wizzy Noise project, sooner, rather than later.

just from curiosity i open to read this cause i see this topic always on top
i didnt read all..i saw link for kaos...
which is me and then i see a man saying that kox box is bigger from all of us..how you measure man with inches or meters?..i grew up with kox box and i have big respect for all old school artists...but if i listen now i will not feel as good as i used to feel the old times...
but if i listen polykaos,polyphonia,zik,stranger,orestis..
man i tell you the whole night will pass like one minute ,i think this is good ..and always feel liberated and happy when i listen these greek artists...i know many people =many tastes but i just say what i think ..so this is a story that is diffrent for everyone. you cant compare!! .. even at stupid tv i never heard someone say lepa is better than angela or parios is better than rakitzis..so why you do that ?..to make enemies?..i think we need positive vibes specially at these "difficult times" we are living..in conclusion i think comparing is a wrong thing to do cause as i said many people=many tastes...but comparing can be done as far as sound quality and not for musical style...crystal clear and loud!!!
peace

Releases, gigs, albums, quality of sound but mainly the respect the name Kox Box commands across the globe.
Music is not a competition, its not about "winning" as I said earlier, but since we are talking about artists and why some artists get some gigs and the perfect time slots, when others get the warm up, or don't even get a gig at all, we are talking about the respect a name commands.
I am not here to create enemies, I am here to talk about the music I love.
Its great if you feel good listening to the stuff you mentioned, and yes there is no accounting for taste, but it should come as no surprise why people respect the big names, more than "x" underground dark artist for example. The big names have been around long enough and draw the crowds in simply because a lot of people have heard and grew to love their music over the many years they have been around.
When any Greek artist releases an album that will have the impact of "The Great Unknown" for example, and does the things and plays the gigs that Frank'e has played over the years, and smashes the dancefloors to bits, in the way he has, then they will earn that same respect from the people that love this music.
Like someone already said, "respect is earned, not demanded"
Simple as that.

And don't go thinking that I am gunning down on the whole dark psy scene, Disco Hooligans where included in that list.
We have a lot to learn as well.

Nobody stops learning (only when he dies) but maybe you have to believe more in yourself...

I didnt mean that Denmark and Sweden have a greater culture than Greece,i am not in a position to say that since my knowledge on these countries is limited concerning their cultures. All i wanted to say is that people in these countries due to many reasons (like cold weather for example that forces them to stay home more time than going out like us greeks) are more involved with the production of music than we greeks do.Maybe the word culture was wrong indeed,i could have used probably the word mentality or something else, anyway i hope you got my point.
P.S Both civilization and culture were born first in Mesopotamia and then Egypt. Our greek ancestors followed after them by creating new amazing things like democracy and philosophy for example and further developing already discovered sciences like mathematics and astronomy. We were among the first but not the first although we probably offered more to the world than any other civilization.Unfortunately these times have long gone and our country is going from bad to worse due to our stupid mentality and the idiots that we vote every four year.

ok but i have to say an example from all the music scene to understand..there are many amazing voices that are not so well known as singers cause they dont have "connections" or they dont "lick asses" to be promoted and get gigs and releases and stuff.."the great unknown" was and is an amazing track but now if u listen to it does not makes the impression(at least to me)as it did those days
so psychedelic music has to do with the new and unexpected..and music quality as we both say..so whats new?greek artists rulezz

I believe these are excuses and that great music, is great music and it will make a difference, even if you don't suck up to the "industry" (if there's such thing in psy-trance).
Obviously there are people that get more gigs by bigging them selves up and creating a hype that does not really reflect the quality of the music. But if people hear slamming music, they will dance to it and hunt it down like there is no tomorrow.

Listening to the whole Great Uknown LP today makes me wonder what the hell happened? People used to make twisted music that was actually psychedelic and was more powerful at 136 BPM than any tune at 145+ today.
Today I hear the music people call twisted and all I hear is crazy tricks for the sake of being crazy not for taking you on a nice trip whilst making you dance like no one's watching. And the funniest thing is that the people that like surprises, listen to the same 16th basslines and glitch effects, on repeat.
Remember how the bass drops in The Great Uknown? and how the tune develops?
Anyhow, it just shows that you and I have a very diffrent idea about what is actualy good music. I am passionate about the music I love, as you probably are and I don't wanna get into any more comparisons and avoid turning this internesting topic into another "dark trance VS whatever" thread.
