i feel that in truth, a pro-quality sound card won't improve your sound (depending on creation methods), as it will increase your performance. an analogy would be that viagra won't make your pickle bigger, but it will let you hump like a rabbit....

the real trick is quality sound. if all your sample sounds are being generated in a $10dollar card, then you are limited to the quality of compression that that card is capable of. i use reason2 also, but rarely use the sounds in the sounbank. only the soft synths and single rhythm samples from sample cd's. its true that high-end equipment gives better sound, but learning to use what you have helps you to better appreciate the better stuff when you get it. on top of that we're all broke asses......

Well, I don't have a pro soundcard or monitors. I worked very happily and was very content with myself. Then I visited trip-, with his delta and monitors. It's a whole different way of working. an easier, faster, better way.

After working on monitors, it's really hard to go back to innacurate sound.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

In halilit Audiophile active monitors cost 3,200 nis.
But you can buy the Roland monitors which
are good, but then you need to get more money!

i had a motherboard soundcard once too
it wasn't a big deal those day
but now i know how much ot sucked
so basicaly u can use the most chipest sound equpment and get perfect results just by using quality samples and soft synths if u work without hardware.

just export it as a good quality wave and listen in other places

if u realy work hard then your music should sound good

btw:
sound font 2.0 is great, u just need to understand its advantages (its realy cool on emu 101k chip crds like sb live!)

any way: GOOD LUCK!
