hi.....
sorry if i sound very naive, but what exactly is the order of fx that have to be used in a track??? I know that the eq comes at the last, and i also know that you can actually put the order of effects in any way you want (to get the sound u like), but are there any proper methodology to follow while adding effects (which should come first, second, etc)???
help would be greatly appreciated

EQ last?? who told u that!?
the only simple answer is the one you already gave - any order you want, to get the sound u like.
there are some special cases... EQ and compression inter-relate quite closely, and the results of doing EQ->Comp will be very different to Comp->EQ. In my experience, when making dance music, 9 times out of 10 EQ->Comp makes more sense, but either way has its uses. Do EQ first if you are *removing* sound with it, that way the compressor doesnt get triggered by sound your are gonna remove anyway.
also mostly people will put reverb last (on each element...) Stuff like compression almost certainly wants to go before reverb... Under normal circumstances, in fact, almost everything (except possible an EQ on the verb return, if your verb doesnt have any EQ/shelving inside it) ... but then again... doing things like placing a phaser after the reverb can sound really interesting.
As for mastering... again, I certainly wouldnt put EQ last. If you're dithering, that should be ABSOLUTELY DEFINITELY last. Otherwise, I'd do limiting last, preceded by multiband comp, preceded by EQ.
Like I said tho... no rules
