It was gr8 in the old goa Days. Its Original meaning was to be a bassline. But now it sounds so primitive, old and gray. There are some gr8 tracks with TB 303 ( like few Ace Ventura's Tracks) that I'm don't mind the usage of TB303, But In most tracks its boring and overused.
It's a classic - It can still be used today in unique ways - just throw some cool fx on top of it to make it sound a little different.

In my opinion it is a must have in any arsenal of an acid psycedelic producer.
It won't get out of date.
For hardcore acid psychedelia it will always be good.
It's impossible to grow tired of the sounds that incredible little machine is capable of producing, and I concur with the others, D16 Group did a marvellous job on their Phoscyon emulation. Just fire it up and have it play a sequence while turning the cutoff knob and have some coffee - pure bliss. I am not tired of it, its been like 16 years I've been enjoying 303 lines, I still can't get enough of them.
It does not have to be either or, in the right context and with the right notes/sequence, it works wonders on the mind and the floor.
Its got "that" sound and vibe, mangling up simple 303 acid leads and then whatever complex/layered/glitched up line as an answer, is using best of both worlds.
Having said all that, I still find minimal 909/808/303 patterns a lot more psychedelic, hypnotyic and deep, than arrangements full of twisted noise...could be my 33 years of age talking....but it was like that when I was a teenager as well.

So far I'm the Only one with this Opinion. Maybe its Because I'm Into Trance Since 1999 And Acid never Was my cup of Tea.
