the rule of a moderator is to moderate between the ppl who contribute in a forum...so offensive language between them...I might agree with this...but actually not really...
mr Ott call me "cock monkey" and with few other very colourful adjectives in the past and NONE of his posts has been deleted.

it's like when you read a book and you shape the faces in your mind, then perhaps the movie comes out and you see the actors with totally different faces and you can never get back to the old faces that you once pictured in your head

i don;t know about the historical use of the word but in england it is probably one of the most taboo words and i wouldn;t use it to describe someone, unless i wanted to practice karate. f**k was more of a taboo word but has become more widespread and accepted.
but of course words have less intrinsic social connotations when you are speaking another language that is not your own. indeed, maux, i'm sure i could deliver the most horrible insult to you in italian and think i am ordering a some sort of fancy pizza.
having said that and, what with you being italian maux, you will understand the meter and heaviness of language (virgil etc). the juxtaposition of the words cock and monkey have a liliting, bouncy effect, verging towards the dactylic (even though is uses some traditionally hard consanants like 'k' and 'c') which lends itself more towards being a lighthearted, imaginitive, comedic insult and this is without even bringing up the visual image in the mind, which is also funny.
the word c**t, on the other hand, is a heavy sounding, slow iambic word with a bit of a sting in the tail (with the '...nt' combination at the end. it also has no particular comedic value and is also a very poor word to describe the female anatomy.
say the word 'cock' and then f**k outloud and even though they are fairly similar, you will notice that the 'u' in f**k adds a heaviness, whereas cock skips more lightly off the tongue (if u know what i mean...)
