Hi everybody!

Lately i've been experimenting to get an oldschool bassline..but everytime i try i end up with the same fullon bassline as i use to do..Does anybody know how to achieve that old style..for example MFG - Magnetic Activity ??

There are more than one oscillators in that patch, I think I can hear a saw and a square an octave lower, mixed in quite loud in the oscillator mixer (sh-101 style patch).

Then its all in the notes. People used to really play around with the notes back then.

But i thnk also there is something else that differ these old basslines from the new school psychadelic ones..maybe they eq it so its more subby or something..

Same with filteria basslines..

Mix? Hur menar du nu?

well i haven't post here in years

but i must say i feel so happy that people still scratch their head about the most amazing trance music ever composed

as the Well named Disco Hooligan said

it's all in the notes

you'll never hear genius in any Trance production but for sure the notes will show

they'll actually stay for eternity when production tricks will fade in a breath

sad but true as some famous song writer i love once wrote

@Kellimus

well i think that project genesis track is a layered base. a solid mono lowend and a midbase which can be stereo widened without muddy lowend. try that

I guess I should have specified, hehe. I mean the whole groove of it. Every time I try to get a groovy bassline feel, it doesn't turn out well...

But thanks for the suggestion on creating a bass like that, I'll give it a shot!           http://www.mindfluxproductions.com/music/index.php
