Just a few words on this whole issue .........
1. Rightly deserved is the India section to have some kind of action taken against most of the users - but I see it's not that out of hand. There are a lot of users fighting and all that crap but I'm sure it's something that can be removed by someone who uses the India section more often. I suppose once this sort of discipline is applied to this section, things won't go out of hand and will gradually fall into place.
2. Honestly, I see no difference in the way the Trance section and the India section are running except for the magnitude of rubbish in each thread. There are a bunch of off topic posts in many trance threads (not as much as the India section) which are hardly ever deleted. I don't mean to say moderation is bad in the Trance section but only trying to put forward that making the section a read-only one will not really stop people from posting non-sense in the event that the 'read-only' feature is removed.
I do also understand that a lot of people really don't need to be moderated on how to behave but you really can't do much to people who won't listen. I see the alternative the Isratrance team has found is to close the section down which isn't really fair unless all moderators of the India section show those breaking the rules with more action, and if yet nothing can be done to curb all of this, then I can say with out doubt you guys are right and this section probably needs to meet an end.

Yellow Warrior for sure the section has been locked once more some time ago,i remember also the reason about it since i was a moderator at the time and there were some discussions about it in the mods section.
What i cant remember is if the section has been locked before that time or after that.
Anyway Indian section is by far the worst in the forum for many years now.

Jeto i was a moderator back then and i am 100% sure that the section was locked.This had to be somewhere around the end of 2003 or very beggining of 2004 since from February 2004 i was no longer part of the moderation team in the forum.
The reason for that lock up was exactly the same as today since people were fighting all the time and calling names each other and using very bad language and accusations.Also there was an issue with parties being posted in that section and police getting information from here and busting those events.A moderator can look up into the mods section database (if the topic hasnt been deleted after all this time) and find the relevant information.Also i can recall that the Portugese section was also locked for some time for the very same reasons with party organisations fighting with each other in public.
P.S Please dear EL ES DEE dont comment on things that happened before you discovered this place

I disagree with you there. This thread is the definition of the intellectual and spiritual side of the Indian section. (Which you will never find anywhere else) I dont see why it should be accredited to another. Would lose all enthusiasm to add to it too.
Detox... I don't see you adding anything other than "India is the worst section"
What are you getting at now if this has been your opionion for many years ?
You of all people should have some sort of solution, being such an old member and ex moderator. So please ... enlighten us... what is to be done? Or do you hate us that much that you'd like to see it all deleted? |

Dear Yidam you got your solution already.
Section locked and troubles stopped.
Some people you see cant handle democracy and they only realise how important freedom of speech is only when they loose it.
Close the section for 6 months,force most of the troublemakers to leave the forum (i doubt that they participate in other sections anyway so now with no place to fight they will leave on their own anyway),keep the members that really care about this place and try to reopen the section in the future.
Same problems were happening in the Top Ten section some years ago and after it closed a lot of people who caused problems in this forum dissappeared and since then things are better in here,if this method worked for the Top Ten section i cant see why it cant work for the Indian section.

Probably the best solution... and I hope its followed through in that manner.
But please dont throw things like "India is the worst section" and "you have failed" in our faces. If its intent was to make us feel bad... yes we do. But thats all it does.
The Indians still hanging around are the ones who've been the backbone of the India-isra community over the last year or two. We would have done anything to avoid this but everyone knows that there was nothing that could have been done. |

@ Detox: I don't ever recall the India section being locked, I was a member then. Maybe it was discussed.
@ Indian team: Vhonn taightt slap for having to use borrowed space to continue to communicate!! After ALL my lectures... *sigh*

you are totally right, but people who post in that thread had a lot of good insights about spirituality and i have gathered a lot of information from that. i just want the thread to go on, so people who are posting in the thread wont really lose interest, if the section comes back after a few months. dont look at it as accrediting to a different section, just as a way for the thread to go on in this fix the section has put itself into... maybe they can move it again after the section is reopened(i know it is a long shot, but i really hope it will).
