If the Indian users start to mess with the rest of the forum it will be clear that the Indian Section will continue read-only or even be permanently deleted.
Please understand we're working hard on this issue.

I didn't follow the whole plot, so please enlighten me:
* I would like to know who is sad with the forum and their motives, you can PM me if you want.
* Which users are causing problems?
* Why are they acting like that?
I'm really sad about the closing down of this section and I want to see it back again. BUT, I second full_on on doing what what had to be done - it's the best thing for everyone to chill out in order to bring a new air and new vibe to the section, hopefully.
Again, if you are angry with the forum please let us find a way to overcome the issues instead of being immature.

ok im deeply dissapointed in this decision on the other hand its a logical decision by my all time fav full_on 
I would like to see few changes on the read only mode...see we need to know where trance is happening so where will all the parties threads go?? and GOA and MANALI threads were followed properly we had a great time knowing peoples plan in these two sections so if there is a way we can unlock those 2 threads, Its just a opinion which im sure the Isra team can consider
Secondly making it a read only method will not make much of a difference cause its the users who are polluting the section, im using isra since 2 years now and this is what i think.
the team should catch hold of people who are spoiling the forum or lets say the indian forum can have limited users, people who have been kind enough with the section DO A SURVEY FIND OUT WHO NEEDS TO BE IN....for e.g 400 users for indian section thats it not accepting anymore afterall all trance is growing in india so for some time we can do this till its OK.
I think the basic cause is immaturity and making the section read only will make a hell of difference to their attiudes..correct me if im wrong and how will you know that things have changed?? .

Thanks for the feedback and suggestion.
One way of handling this problem is fighting the effects, like you mentinoned, to find out who needs to be in [and out].
But a better one imo, since everyone is welcome to be in, is to deal with the causes. And that's why I'd like to listen to different viewpoints.
People like you are of great help to organize the section, hence evolving its contents into more mature discussions and cutting off all the pointless posts.

Wouldn't it be easier to ban the offending users so that the valued members of the Indian forum can continue to post? There seems to be talk of taking a vote on who is in or out, but on the other forums I post on, the rules are simple: If you make multiple fake accounts for the purpose of being a jerk, all your accounts are IP banned.
I'm assuming the forum code has a way to track IP numbers etc.
Frankly, I'm always a little bit surprised to see how forgiving the administrators here are sometimes, considering the behavior of some of the posters.
I'm not familiar with the specific problems of the India section, but from what was described here, it sounds like it was just a few bad apples spoiling the forum for everyone else.

Aeon, we want to have peace around here.
Banning is one way into trouble. It creates even more anger and make people come back and do absurd things. Believe me, we wont have a tranquil forum if people feel threatened, plus we all got other things to do other than checking sections all the time. We have to be fair too.
For this reason, we want to have a stable forum with healthy discussions and to please everyone.
And we are willing to take particular cases into consideration. I mean, willing to understand both sides. We are not here to judge people. Everyone is free to do what they want...

i really dunno if i am happy with this move or saddend by it....
well to be honest...the indian section does have tonnes of interesting indians who post on dedicated threads....
apart from that the new topics that come up almost on an hourly basis purely dont have any meaning and i wonder y they r put up in the first place....
i respect the isra team with their decision but wish there was a better alternative....
banning users is really not an answer...its just people who have to understand thier role in posting quality...not crap...
all said and done....feels weird not to have an indian section as it normally was....
lets hope a change...
but opening the manali...goa and autobiography of a yogi threads would be a consolation atleast for the serious users.....

Ok i just need to add more on this issue.
I feel Isra team should pull up their socks and scout on who is misbehaving in the section and what are they posting, i would say the moderator can be given a full on privilige to delete users in the section thats the best option if you want the section to be up again...if we leave it for the users to change then i donno when i will be posting on the section again.
People dont change that fast.
Two Questions again.
1) Where will the party threads go ??
2) How will anyone come to know that things have changed ??
And one request for all the user...Guys lets make this thread a serious issue.. please dont laugh around or be sarcastic.

i still dont understand what the hell it was , that was soo against the forum rules that you had to lock it . ok so theres a few silly posts .. this whole thing is crazy . open it and get on with it . shall we ?

I never thought I would be seeing this day. Its sad and Whatever pros and cons, I would ideally like to have the Indian section in regular mode. It really feels like we have been thrown on the streets. Isratrance forum is the only forum where my membership hasnt expired due to inactivity and its been more then 2 and 1/2 years now. 
And you want to know whats worst, people are still having their fun in this thread. Common dont you feel even slightly bad about the whole situation? And think about what image have we represented to an international community "Are We People who cant behave??"
The guidelines are so damn simple, few things here and there. Takes a lil time to get used to but once ur in its pretty darn easy.

maybe u can ans. me i have asked this atleast 2 times b4 but none of the isra team members eve ans. it and imo this is 1 of the catalyst to the whole problem
y do we have member status wen they are of no use
seriously i mean even wen i started nearly 3 yrs. ago i too thought there might be some point to it sum previalge or woteve. (only to learn otherwise after a while)
all the new members (esp. indian section) are mostly in thier early teens and energy goes for a bad cause as they think it'll be cool to be a junior/senior member and. thier point will be heard with more weight on it if they are junior or senior members.
so they go on posting useless post n opening non - logical threads.
do we really need the member status????

I def. see many reasons for locking the india section...
however i feel its slightly mean to do it just before the moondust festival (india's first festival).
see, one of the major problems with the Indian section is that many many of the users who actually arnt going to parties and are not really involved in the trance scene, are using the forum to make them selves think they are, and the garbage on the india forum is a result of this....
so its kinda sad that when an actual large trance event is about to take place, that thats when the section gets locked....
(though i guess there also has been a lot of excessive posts about moondust also).
might have been better to lock the section after the festival... so that people get a taste of communicating about a large event, and then going for that event (for a change).
locking the forum after the festival would still make people realize that they have abused the forum because everyone would be itching to post the things but would not be able to and people would feel that, and re-think things.... so that in the future it would not happen.
