Just for some interesting price information I've checked:

Looks like one dual core Xeon woodcrest 2.66Ghz costs $690 - that means about $1400 for two of them.
So that leaves $1100 for all the rest of the stuff in the new mac. I'm not sure how far would I get if I custom built a machine like that myself.
I'm glad Apple are lowering their prices this way. A good look on the future

Definatly need to sell some more tracks in order to justify buying something like that.
And I think I would wait till the second generation.

It has to be said the current version of Logic wouldn't fully utilise this beasts capabilities anyway.
I've heard that a new Logic update is coming next spring so i think Jeto's right in waiting for the second generation, not only because 2nd gens tend to be more solid but all the 3rd parties soft would have caught up by then as well. |
