Hey, my name is Jon Dillinger. I was directed here by someone online, I can't remember who put down the link. I've gotten into the Electronic styles since the late 80's. So you can suspect I heard House music in the beginning. Not a lot of it though. Anyway, I'm not very much the bias type when it comes to Electronic Dance Music. The only genres I don't care for are Nu-Jazz and Happy Hardcore.

Questions that can hopefully be answered:
Listening to Age of Love, Emmanuel Top, etc. I noticed a lot of repeatition. However it is still a good melody. Is Trance music fully based on motifs? Because I'm the kind of guy who likes these styles and I can't seem to stay where I am whenever I try. So can anyone help me by telling me how to compose Trance? I don't want this Progressive, Anthem, Hard stuff. I want to know if there is a way to revive Trance like it once was.

In the mean time, watch this:

PS: I have a hardware synthesizer and not a MIDI sequencer.
