Try typing in your address/ work address (if you live in the countryside like me it probably won't have the function yet, but just enter a city address for example). Now at the top of the zoom bar there is a little yellow man. Click and drag that yellow man on to a street (the street will get a blue outline if the function is available for that location) and you will then get a first person view of the street. You can see people and cars and it's as if you're actually there. I heard on the news yesterday that they are working on a completely live mode, which means complete destruction of any sort of privacy.
We need to stop this from happening

Does no one else find this rather frightening? Fair play it's a cool gadget, but it's only gonna be used for bad. I know for instance that i can see where every single security camera is around my workplace, so if someone wanted to rob the shop they could find the safest place to run to...

shit, dude, it's been there for 3 months at least. maybe longer.
i don't really have a problem with it and personally use it all the time. right now i'm looking for apartments, so this comes in REALLLL handy to check out neighborhoods and shit. it's saving me tons of time having to cruise around and waste my time and fuel.
would you run out and beat my ass if you saw me walking down the street and LOOKING at your house? what if i took a picture of your house while standing on the street?
so what's the problem again?

it's not this version i have a problem with, i think this version is really good because i for one travel around a fair bit in my car so its useful to see exactly where i have to go, however it is the live version that they're working on that worries me. complete invasion of day to day privacy by anyone. lovely

Why worry about it if you're a law abiding citizen?
If you've got nothing to hide then there is no fear of "big brother" type stuff like this.
I think it would be great for police solving crimes if say a brutal bashing or rape was caught on one of these "live" cameras and they could use the image to catch the perp.

It's not that at all, it's just a basic invasion of privacy by ANYBODY. I don't know about where ever it is you live, but in england there's already police cctv covering just about every part of inner cities, so if there's a brutal bashing or rape then they're just as likely to catch it on cctv as on one of the live cameras. however it's the fact that ANY random person could be watching me at nearly any time that makes me feel uncomfortable. i'm sorry but it's simply intrusive and i don't like it.
